    MCKIM OBSERVATORY OPEN HOUSEMAR 1

    The historical McKim Observatory is opened to the public on select nights throughout the school year, thanks to the staff at the Astronomy and Physics Department of DePauw University. Free and open to the public, click the link for additional details.

    Exciting hikes are in store for 2024. Multiple trips to the DePauw Nature Park and Big Walnut Nature Preserve are in store this year. All guided hikes start at 9:00 a.m., are beginner-friendly, are free and open to the public, and are led by a local expert in a specific field.

    GARDEN FAIR 2024MAR 16

    The Putnam County Master Gardener Association presents the 2024 Garden Fair! The event will be held at the Putnam County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on March 16th. Vendor booths, kid’s activities, and food will all be available. Admission is free and free trees will be available for attendees. 

    Speakers:
    – Fertilizer: Correct Usage & Impact – 10:00 am
    – Gardening Panel Discussion – 11:30 am
    – Permaculture & Edible Landscaping – 1:30 pm
