The 18-hole Clover Meadow Golf Course features 6,383 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The public course has a rating is 70.5, and it has a slope rating of 124 on Rye grass. Designed by Bob Gerlach, the course opened in 1988 and is a terrific choice for your regular rounds of golf or a new destination when visiting Putnam County.
The facility rents clubs and carts. A half-cart is included in the green fee. Walking is allowed, but not in metal spikes. The season is year-round, and there is a putting green and a teaching pro, but no driving range.
Clover Meadow is family-owned, but it is not a hobby course; it is large, beautiful, well-kept, and superbly designed. The holes are challenging and some are nearly perfect. You will find a severe “go through the woods if you dare” dogleg, and rolling downhill Par 4’s, vast Par 5’s, a serene setting, an overall shaping that rewards well-hit shots, and very friendly staff. In windy conditions, play here can be very exciting. Incentivizing play even more, this is one of the least expensive courses in the region – less than $20 for 18 holes.
